Kapil Sharma OUT of Top 10, Nach Baliye 8 Makes A Grand Entry
Your weekly dope on the ongoing TV shows. For the first time since its premiere, The Kapil Sharma Show did not find a place in the Top 10. Nach Baliye 8, on the other hand, began on a good note
In what can be termed as a massive blow to the makers of
The Kapil Sharma Show, the comedy show has been ousted from Top 10. We don’t
think the show has ever seen such a scenario in the past. Believe it or not,
the ratings are just 2.
Ever since the infamous mid-air brawl on March 16 between
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, the show has registered a drop in its ratings.
In Week 12 (March 17-23), it was relegated to the bottom of the barrel and was
at the 10th position. To salvage the situation, the makers roped in
stand-up comedians Ehsaan Qureshi, Sunil Pal and Raju Srivastav for an episode,
hoping that their comic timing, coupled with Kapil’s witty comebacks might help
the show climb the ladder. However, in vain. In Week 13 (March 24-30), it
filed to regain its lost glory and acquired the 9th spot.
Now, Week 14 (March 31- April 6), The Kapil Sharma
Show does not feature in the list of Top 10 shows. You should note that it’s
not that the comedy show was devoid of stars in the weeks in question. During
the time it had Bollywood celebs like Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee
Pannu-Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon in attendance.
Also, we hear that Sony’s loss is Colors’ gain. The
dipping TRPs of The Kapil Sharma Show are benefiting Colors show The Rising
Star.

Up next, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Nach Baliye 8 found a
place in the coveted list. While the Divyanka Tripathi-Karan Patel starrer
sitcom made a comeback into Top 10 after 2 weeks, Nach Baliye seems to have
begun on a solid ground. The celeb dance show premiered on April 2 and this season’s
star power helped to keep the audience’s hooked.

The remaining leader board didn’t showcase striking
change. Naagin 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kumkum Bhagya, Shakti – Astitva
Ke Ehsaas Ki and Shani were the top 5 shows (written in chronological order).

Colors’ Udaan and Ek Shringaar...Swabhimaan did not
feature in the Top 10 in the said week. However, considering that TV business
is an ever changing game, they might return in Week 15.
