HIT OR FLOP: Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Bigg Boss 12, Kaun Banega Crorepati 10?

It’s that time of the week again when we tell you how your favourite TV shows are faring vis-à-vis others on Indian television. Let’s begin this week’s round-up by telling you the status of one of the most talked about shows – Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. The show starring Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan is a reboot of the eponymous show that shot Cezanne Khan and Shweta Tiwari to overnight fame. When you bring back an iconic show expectations are mammoth and this one is no exception.

In Week 39 (September 22-28), Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 landed on the 10th spot. We cannot deny that with the hype generated around the show, we expected it to perform better, however, it has just managed to make it to the coveted list. Having said that, the impressions are from the first few days and it will be interesting to see how the show fares in the coming weeks. The second week is going to be crucial.

Up next, Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which had dropped last week, has shot back and reclaimed its position – No.2. The show has been witnessing several twists and turns currently which have ensured that fans stay glued. Another show which made a comeback to Top 10 is Kaun Banega Crorepati 10. The Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show was ousted from the list last week. However, this time, it’s back and clinched 7thposition. Good going!

Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala too showcased significant improvement. It soared from 8 to 4. It would be interesting to see if it manages to hold its position in the coming weeks. While KBC found its way to Top 10, Bigg Boss 12 has been pushed out. It’s the first time since its premiere that the reality show failed to make it to Top 10. We bet the makers have begun hatching plans to introduce ‘twists’ which will draw the audience back to the show. Furthermore, Naagin 3 continued to be the most watched show on Indian television. Kundali Bhagya retained its position at No.3 and Kumkum Bhagya was at No.5.
