Yuvika Chaudhary’s Casteist Slur Row: Bigg Boss 9 Contestant Admits The Controversy Affected Her Mentally; Says ‘Felt Like I Murdered Someone'
Bigg Boss 9 fame Yuvika Chaudhary, earlier this year, made headlines after her vlog went viral where she used a casteist slur. For the uninitiated, the actress, back in May, had made a video with her husband Prince Narula, where he was seen getting ready. To describe how bad she looked, Yuvika used a casteist slur which did not go down well with social media users, who trended #ArrestYuvikaChoudhary on Twitter. Not just this, the controversy got momentum after the actress was booked by the Haryana Police on a complaint by a Dalit rights activist.

Now, in a recent interview with PeepingMoon, Yuvika has opened up about the controversy and revealed that it affected her mentally. She said it took her a lot of time to be normal. Chaudhary was quoted saying, “Whatever happens with you for the first time, you get affected by that. I am happy that my husband and my family are a big support. It took me time to be normal. I have done nothing wrong. Mujhe aisa lag raha tha ki maine kisi ka khoon kar diya hai (I felt like I murdered someone). Being artists, we are not here to hurt anybody. I strongly feel strict action should be taken against people who drop in illogical or abusive comments on social media posts.”

Talking about having been called to the police station, the Ex-Bigg Boss contestant said that she felt like she "paid the price for being a celebrity." She added that there are people who abuse celebrities on social media but they cannot file a case against everyone. For her, humanity comes first so saying sorry repetitively doesn’t harm.

“I don’t believe in caste, I only believe in humanity,” Yuvika Chaudhary explained.

After receiving a severe backlash Yuvika Chaudhary had also issued an apology on social media and stated she did know the meaning of that word and she didn't mean to hurt anyone. Her Twitter post read, "Hi guys I didn't know the meaning of that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn't mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n everyone I hope you understand the love you all.” Also READ: Bigg Boss 9 Fame Yuvika Chaudhary Arrested For Using Casteist Slur In A Video; Actress Released On Interim Bail
