Bad news for Harshad Arora fans, but good news for Shaheer Sheikh lovers as not the former but latter has been roped in as the lead in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai spin-off
As you know that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will soon be knocking at your television sets, not as original but as a spin-off. And guess who will be playing the lead actor in the show? Not Harshad Arora. Well, it’s Shaheer Sheikh who will essay the role of the main lead in the show.
Buzz was strong that Beintehaa actor Harshad Arora will play the main lead in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai spin-off. However, Shaheer won the race and bagged the role. Talking about the show, well, after a successful run of 10 years, producer Rajan Shahi has decided to go mould Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai the Kundali Bhagya and Dil Bole Oberoi way, by introducing its spin-off. The show will telecast on STAR Plus and will be produced under his banner Director's Kut Productions.
Talking about the whole idea to Bombay Times, Rajan Shahi has said, "We are working on a spin-off of 'YRKHH', which completed 10 years, recently. Shaheer has been signed on to play the male lead. He will be seen in a dynamic role, which will be different from his previous outings. I realised that some characters from the original show deserve to be explored further in the spin-off. The title of the new show is yet to be finalised.”
Confirming the news Shaheer Sheikh said, "Yes, I have been in talks with the production house, but I was in Jammu over the past few days. I will be returning to Mumbai today, and will take things forward.”
The show which is scheduled to go on floor in two weeks time doesn’t have a female lead as yet. Although Rhea Sharma who played Kanak in the part 2 of Diya Aur Baati Ham titled 'Tu Suraj Main Saanjh Piyaa Ji' is a strong contender for the same.
