Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is all set to take a generation leap for the third time. Having started the journey with Heena Khan and Karan Mehra’s Akshara-Naitik, the story then moves on to the love story between Naira and Kartik essayed by Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan. As the story came to an end, the makers moved on to show the love story between Abhimanyu and Akshara, played by Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathore. 

Well, the story is set to take yet another leap which will follow the journey of Akshara and Abhinav’s (played by Jai Soni) daughter Abhira. With Samridhii Shukla and Shehzada Dhami taking the reigns of the show with the characters Abhira and Armaan, let’s take a look at the actors who have left the show to make way for the new generation. Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathore - One of the most adored on-screen jodis, Harshad and Pranali have marked their exit from the show ahead of the leap. Their storyline has received a lot of mixed reactions from the fans as they couldn’t see their ship AbhiRa sailing again. If reports are to be believed, the story will move forward with Akshara single-handedly raising her daughter after Abhimanyu’s death.


Shreyansh Kaurav, Hera Mishra, Nirbhay Thakur - The adorable trio of Abhir, Ruhi and Shivu played by Shreyansh Kaurav, Hera Mishra and Nirbhay Thakur respectively will not be seen post-leap as the characters will grow up to be individuals in their 20s. While reports have stated that even Abhir will die during the accident with Abhimanyu, nothing has been officially announced yet. 


Ami Trivedi - Having essayed the role of Manjiri Birla, Abhimanyu’s overprotective mother, Ami’s role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has also come to an end. She has confirmed her exit in many of her interviews.


Karishma Sawant - Karishma essayed the role of Aarohi Goenka, Kartik and Seerat’s daughter. Her track came to an end a few days ago as she got into an accident because Akshara was unable to stop the car. Her death sequence brought a huge twist to the storyline.


Swati Chitnis - Having essayed the role of Dadi aka Suhasini Goenka, Swati will not be continuing her role as she has already witnessed two generations on the show.


Abeer Singh and Shambhavi Singh - Everyone’s beloved Kairav and Muskaan will be bidding adieu to the show after the leap. It is still unclear if the makers have cast other actors for their roles as the couple will be middle-aged after the leap.


Apart from all this, the new cast includes actors like Shruti Ulfat, Sandeep Rajora, Shivam Khajuria, Preeti Amin, Preeti Puri Choudhary, Sandeep Baswana, Saloni Sandhu, Rishabh Jaiswal, Sikandar Kharbanda, Gaurav Sharma, Pratiksha Honmukhe and more.
