Reports are rife that makers of the show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein have decided to pull the plug on it next month. SpotboyE.com got in touch with lead actress Divyanka Tripathi and here's what she said

Last week, we reported the shocking news of Nakuul Mehta and Niti Taylor starrer Ishqbaaaz- Pyaar Ki Ek Dhinchak Kahaani coming to a close on March 15. And now, few media reports suggest that Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya and Karan Patel starrer Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is next in line to bid farewell to the viewers. Well, this isn’t the first time that reports of the showing going off air have made it online.

As per a report in IMWbuzz, "This very long-running series (Dec 2013 start) starring Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel had been under-performing for a while now. And now with Star engaged in a neck to neck fight with Colors, the channel is getting strict with numbers. Hence, they have decided to pull the plug off".

We got in touch with our sources to know the authenticity of this news. Our source told us, "Yes, the show may go off air by next month. However, no official announcement has been made yet. But, we will come with a spin-off titled Yeh Hai Chaahatein".

We also reached out to Divyanka who essays the character of Ishita Bhalla and here’s what she said, "They haven't announced anything officially to the actors at least".

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein which has been successfully running since the last 5 years, is a story partially based on Manju Kapur's novel, Custody. The show follows the love story of Tamil dentist Dr. Ishita Iyer and Punjabi CEO Raman Kumar Bhalla. The show has witnessed 4 time leaps in 5 years. It took a seven-year leap in April 2016 followed by a one-year leap in November 2016 and then a two-year leap in November 2017 and the latest was an 8 months leap. Along with Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel, Anita Hassanandani, Ruhanika Dhawan, Aditi Bhatia, Krishna Mukherjee, Abhishek Verma, Sudha Chandran and several other popular faces have been associated with the show.
