World Day Against Child Labour 2021: Aradhna Sharma Urges Everyone To Raise Voice Against The Crime- EXCLUSIVE
TV actress Aradhna Sharma who is famous for her roles in Taarak Mehta Is Ooltah Chashma and DID6, speaks up on World Day Against Child Labour. The actress stresses the importance of raising one's voice against the heinous crime.
Aradhna Sharma has been a part of many shows like Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma, Aladdin Naam Toh Suna Hoga, Hero Gayab Mode On, Splitsvilla, Boogie Woogie and DID 6.
On being asked about her opinion on the exploitation of child labour, Aradhana says, "Children are the future assets of the nation and their adequate development should be the utmost priority of a country. Unfortunately, child labour engulfs children everywhere in the world, be it in traffic or in the rural areas where it is most prevalent. People in the rural areas especially, in the urban areas also for that matter, deprive their children of the opportunity to attend school and engage them in child labour, out of poverty. We can see people letting their children beg in the streets or sell commodities just to earn some money. This leads to their childhood being affected drastically. This not only has an impact on their schooling but also affects their personal development." Adding to the same, she says, "The whereabouts of many of these children engaged in child labour are not known and people couldn't care less. Although child labour is prohibited in all countries, we still find enormous children begging on the streets or working as house helps. Every activity is happening in front of society and the authorities but they are not interested in taking any action and curbing the issue of child labour. Documenting the prohibition of child labour on papers is not enough. There should be a practical solution to it."
Lastly, she urges people to raise their voices against child labour. "We, as a part of the society, should raise awareness about the impact of child labour on the children and their development. I request the lawmakers to take strict actions against those people who force minor children to work and make sure the prevalence of child labour is reduced to the maximum extent", Aradhana says.
