WHAT! Shark Tank India Benefits Judges’ ‘Social Recognition’ More Than The ‘Frustrated And Broken Contestants’ Claims Netizen; Take A Look At The TWEETS
Being one of the first business-based reality shows on Indian television, Shark Tank India enjoys a huge fanbase. Not only does it give exposure to the judges and their businesses, but it also highlights the up and coming small businesses that have been trying to earn a living. However, just like there is a bright side to everything, there is also a dark side. On Saturday, a twitter user named Anmol Sharma claimed the show only benefits the judges and the television channel, rather than the contestants.

In the format of a thread, he tweeted the experiences of former contestants who never received their fundings despite being promised about it on national television. He spoke about the timeline of the show. From the registrations of new contestants starting from Jun, to the team wrapping up post-production in December-January, he alleged that the contestants should receive “their funding within 2 months.” ALSO READ: Shark Tank India 3: Business Reality Show To Return On Small Screens? He went on to talk about how rather than helping new businesses stand on their feet, the show is more beneficial for the sharks as the TV channel it airs on.

For the unversed, the show is a massive hit among the audience for its unique theme. An adaptation of the US show by the same name, the format of the show sees renowned entrepreneurs going through the pitches of small businesses and deciding whether or not they want to invest in them. With two successful seasons under their belt, the makers recently announced that the registration for the third season has already started.

Last season saw Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.

Amit had replaced Ashneer Grover (Former Founder of BharatPe) as the judge and even Gazal Alagh (Co-founder of Mamaearth) did not return. While the first season was hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the second one was hosted by Rahul Dua. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
