Lock Upp contestant Saisha Shinde is someone who never shies away from expressing herself. Of late, she is grabbing headlines for making some candid confessions and shocking revelations during media interviews. In a recent interview, Saisha recalled she was denied to donate blood because as per some medical guidelines, she comes in the category of carrying STDs. The designer also revealed that transgenders, gay men and lesbians cannot donate blood as they all fall in the same category.
Speaking with HT City, Saisha recalled that when was on her way to donate blood, the concerned authorities called her and informed her that she won’t be able to donate her blood as per some medical guidelines. She called the experience ‘beyond discriminatory.’ The designer went on to reveal that she was left shocked and thus she did her 'research and learned about the blood referral'. “People who are in the high risk category of illnesses. Which is why transgenders, gay men, and lesbians cannot donate blood Apparently we come in those category of carrying STDs. The irony is two years ago I donated my blood but now because my identity has changed I cannot donate blood. As if my blood has changed. But it’s not. I could be carrying those diseases as a gay man. It is beyond discriminatory,” Saisha was quoted saying.
This shocking incident happened with Shinde during Pride Month.
Meanwhile, Saisha Shinde was last seen in Kangana Ranaut-hosted controversial reality show ‘Lock Upp’ where she confessed her liking for comedian Munawar Faruqui.
