Rashami Desai, a well-known figure in the television industry, is best recognized for her portrayal of Tapasya Thakur in the popular TV serial "Uttaran," which also featured Tina Dutta in a leading role. Recently, Rashami opened up about the financial hardships she faced following her divorce from Nandish Sandhu. In a candid conversation with Paras Chhabra on his podcast, Rashami revealed that she was burdened with a debt of Rs. 3.5 crore after purchasing an apartment worth Rs. 2.5 crore. She recounted, "I remember there was a total debt of Rs 3.25–3.5 crore on me. I thought everything was fine but then suddenly, my show was shut down." The unexpected end of her show left her in a dire financial situation. Rashami further disclosed that she had severed ties with her family during this difficult period and ended up living out of her Audi A6 for four days, sleeping in her car. ALSO READ: WHAT?! She survived on inexpensive meals costing Rs 20, similar to those eaten by rickshaw drivers. "It used to come in a plastic bag that had daal and chawal mixed and they would give two rotis along with it. It would have some stones also but I ate that anyway,” Rashami shared. Despite these challenges, her fortunes changed when she secured the lead role in "Dil Se Dil Tak," alongside Sidharth Shukla and Jasmine Bhasin. This opportunity helped her pay off her debts and regain financial stability.



However, Rashami revealed that even after clearing her debts, she was not content and continued to work tirelessly without adequate rest. The stress and exhaustion led to severe emotional distress, and she admitted to having suicidal thoughts during that time. "At that time, I started thinking, I would rather die,” she confessed, highlighting the mental health struggles she faced despite her professional success.

On the professional front, Rashami has several upcoming projects, including "Mission Laila," "Hisaab Barabar," "Mom Tane Nai Samjay," "Chambe Di Booti," and "Evara-Blessing Of God." Her resilience and determination to overcome personal and financial hardships serve as an inspiring story for many, demonstrating the challenges and triumphs of life beyond the screen.
