Actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular television show "Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah," had been missing since April 22. He returned home on Friday. According to a report from India Today, the Delhi Police disclosed that Singh had embarked on a religious journey. During his absence, Singh visited several gurudwaras in cities such as Amritsar and Ludhiana. Initially intent on leaving behind his worldly life, Singh eventually decided to return home. The Delhi Police's investigation revealed that Singh was a follower of a sect focused on meditation, and he had expressed a desire to visit the Himalayas for further spiritual practice. Due to his sudden disappearance, his family filed a missing person report, which led the police to initiate a kidnapping investigation. Singh, who had been visiting his parents in Delhi, was expected to return to Mumbai, but his sudden absence raised concerns. Further probing by the police uncovered that Singh managed multiple bank accounts and frequently used credit cards. He operated over ten bank accounts and was involved in complex financial transactions. For instance, as reported by the Free Press Journal, Singh withdrew ₹14,000 from an ATM and used credit cards to balance payments between different accounts. This financial activity added a layer of complexity to his disappearance.




In the midst of the investigation, Singh's father, Hargit Singh, expressed his surprise regarding his son's financial troubles. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Hargit Singh mentioned that he was unaware of any financial difficulties his son might have been facing, as Gurucharan had never discussed these matters with him. This lack of communication about his financial situation left Hargit Singh in the dark about his son’s struggles.
