Over the years, television personality Bharti Singh has made a name for herself in the male-dominated entertainment industry with her quirky personality and impeccable comic timing. Having tasted the sweet fruit of success after years of hardships, she has never once shied away from talking about her childhood and how she and her family grew up in poverty without any privileges. In an old interview talking about the same, she opened up about how she and her family had to eat other people’s left food.

During an interview with Neena Gupta for Brut India, recalling her painful childhood memory, she shared that her mother was a house help, would would feed her kids the leftover food she would receive from other people. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, she added, “Unki baasi sabzi hamari fresh ho jaati thi. Hamara poora din ban jaata tha.” ALSO READ: DID YOU KNOW? Recalling another instance, Bharti revealed how one time she even thought that she wanted to eat a half-eaten apple which was thrown in the dustbin as she was very hungry. She shared, “Log aadha apple khaakar kachre mein phenk dete the to mujhe lagta tha ise paap chadhega. Wo dustbin mein phenk dete the to main sochti thi ye nikaal ke wo aadha bacha hissa kaat ke khaa lun. Yahan tak meri soch gayi hai. Having made a name for herself with her comedy, Bharti Singh became a household name because of her famous character ‘Lalli’ in the comedy-based reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge season 4. From then on she achieved new heights of success and rose to fame by participating in various reality shows as a host and well as a participant. She tied the knot with Harsh Limbachiyaa in December 2021 and welcomed their son Laksh, nicknamed Golle in 2022. The comedian worked continuously throughout her pregnancy until her very last month.
