'Pandya Store' fame actress Shiny Doshi has managed to carve a successful niche for herself in the television industry. Just like every newcomer, she too had her fair share of struggles before making a big in Telly town. In a new interview, Shiny recalled working with ace Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in her debut show ‘Saraswatichandra’ and made some shocking revelations. Doshi revealed that since she was new, she did not know how to act and thus she used to get scorned by Bhansali on the sets.
The actress also revealed that she used to get scolded by the director almost every day and there was a time when she decided to quit the show. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Shiny Doshi shared, “I shot the pilot of Saraswatichandra in 2012. Mujhe kuch nahi aata tha. My director had to yell and shout at me. It used to be very embarrassing for me. Thoda ajeeb lagta tha; lagta tha ki galat jageh toh nahi aagayi hoon main. You question yourself. Main daant sun lete thi and I used to break down in the washroom. Shiny went on to reveal that before performing any scene she used to get scared. She had no work experience and technical knowledge back then. 'Saraswatichandra' was Bhansali’s dream and big project on TV so he wanted everything to be perfect.
While narrating an incident that made her feel like quitting the show, the actress stated, “Bhansali Ji was sitting there for my look test. But wo daant bhi aapko perfect hi banati hai. Main itni daant khaati thi set pe. I felt like quitting 1000 times. Every day I used to feel that. Back then, every morning there was a lack of happiness and enthusiasm. Subah uth ke lagta tha ki aaj fir daant khane chalte hain.”
In 2013, Shiny Doshi ventured into television with ‘Saraswatichandra’ where she played Kusum Desai. Doshi is best known for her portrayal of Sarojini Singh in 'Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal', Mahi Sengupta in 'Jamai Raja', and Radha in 'Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran'. She also participated in the reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 8.’ Shiny is currently seen playing the role of Dhara Pandya on Star Plus’s daily soap ‘Pandya Store’ which premiered on 25 January 2021.
