The Kapil Sharma Show Fame Sidharth Sagar Opens Up About Fighting Depression And Bipolar Disorder, ‘I Used To Have 18 Medicines As I Was Diagnosed’

Ace comedian Sidharth Sagar who is currently seen in The Kapil Sharma Show has spoken about his suffering from bipolar disorder, depression, and substance abuse. But, now he has overcome all his mental health issues and he is proud of it. He is now on a path to achieving a healthy mind and body. In a recent interview, he spoke about fighting depression and coming out of it.
Sidharth Sagar while speaking to Hindustan Times he said, “Not only our industry, today in every industry, corporate world, students; everyone is going through depression and anxiety and are having sleeping pills or some or the other medications. So was I.”
Sagar added that he was on multiple medications when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He asserted, “I used to have 18 medicines as I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I was addicted, depressed, anxious, paranoid and would have hallucinations, schizophrenia and psychosis. Today, I have no medications , I have a healthy body and mind. I am one year clean from addiction, everything is at its place by God’s grace.”
He further mentioned that a good healthy mind releases serotonin, dopamine, and an imbalance of these chemicals makes the mind unhealthy. He even stated that diet plays an important for a healthy mind and those “who eat junk are more prone to mental health issues.”
Talking about money fame and success he said, “can always be obtained, but at a price. Ignoring your body and mind is like ignoring something that is priceless.”
The actor stated that he gives equal importance to mental as well as physical heath. He added, “Be watchful of your thoughts, do not interrupt your thought process by judging your thoughts, whether it’s negative or positive. Just observe them quietly. I give my body complete rest, I become watchful of what is going inside my body and mind and I come to know what is required. When you are in silence, your body tells you exactly what it needs but to listen to your own body and mind one should be in silence.”
For the unversed, the 29-year-old comedian rose to fame through Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show, however, he went missing in 2018. He then shared his ordeal via Instagram and told the world about him suffering from substance abuse, childhood traumas, and depression. There were some reports indicating that he has suffered relapse.
