Nitish Bhaluni opened up about his experience of bagging the role of Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making the news this week for welcoming actor Nitish Bhaluni as Tipendra Gada aka Tapu. For the unversed, he has replaced actor Raj Anadkar, who was a replacement for Bhavya Gandhi. The actor during an interaction with media opened up about his experience of bagging the role and a precious piece of advice he received from Dilip Joshi, who plays the character of businessman Jethalal Gada.
Recalling that his auditions were a smooth sailing process, the 23-year-old revealed that he met the production designer on the set after his first audition, where he auditioned for the second time. He further told Pinkvilla, “Next, I met Asit Modi sir for a meeting but there were other boys also in the queue for it. I was praying to get one meeting with Asit sir. After the meeting they made me sit separately in a conference room, and in the evening around 8:00 PM, I met Neela ma'am and then again I did a mock test with Bhide (Mandar Chandwadkar) uncle and the entire Tapu Sena.” ALSO READ: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Producer Asit Modi Hints At Replacing Disha Vakani; Says, ‘Tappu Aaya Hai, Ab Nayi Daya Bhabhi Bhi Aayegi’
He went on to express that after all his mock tests, his parents were called from Shimla for a meeting. His parents were really happy as TMKOC has been their favourite show. He adds, “they told me that now is the time for me to start working hard. After signing the contract I went to Siddhivinayak mandir.” ALSO READ: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Priya Ahuja Rajda REACTS To Rita Reporter Getting Married To Popatlal, Her Hilarious Response Takes Over The Internet
Talking about the piece of advice Joshi gave him, he said, “On my first day, he told me that I will have to learn to improvise very closely. He also adviced me to stay in the moment for my character Tapu. Sir told me, 'Listening is very important because if you think that you are saying the line in a rehearsed manner, the reaction won't be natural. You will have to respond after listening. You are learning right now and even the audience won't judge you. It is up to you how you will tackle this. You only focus on the love that you will be receiving from the audience and not on the trolls that you will be getting.”
Talking about the show, over the years a lot of actors have been replaced and re-casted. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently the longest running comedy show on Indian television. The show had recently made it to the news for not clearing the dues of their past actor, which was later dismissed by the team.
