Swaragini fame Namish Taneja, who will soon be seen in Mahesh Pandey's upcoming show Vidya has become the latest victim of ATM fraud after he was duped of Rs 50,000. When contacted, Namish said, "I was in theatre watching a film, when I saw a couple of missed calls from an unknown number. When I called back, I came to know that someone from the bank was trying to reach me to inform that they have blocked my debit card.”

“They told me that they suspected fraudulent transaction from my account. I was shocked when I realised I had received five messages about the withdrawal of  Rs 10,000 each, while I was inquiring with the bank," he added. The actor has filed an FIR in Amboli police station. He reveals that the bank called him up to tell him that he wouldn’t have to bear the brunt of this fraudulent transaction. “The fraud had happened due to negligence from the bank’s end, that’s why I am not liable,” he explained.

Namish further let in that the bank is going to reverse the unauthorised electronic transaction, and credit Rs 50,000 back into his account. The said sum would be credited within 10 working days.

“Though I will get a refund, this is a matter of concern and that’s why I filed an FIR," Namish said.
