Anupamaa actor Sudhanshu Pandey slammed award show organizers for disregarding COVID-19 protocols during award ceremony. As many Netizens questioned why he didn’t wear a mask himself, here’s how he responded
The number of COVID-19 cases is increasing every day, and state governments are considering curtailing or suspending certain flights and trains. While the lockdown has started to ease up a bit, the danger of the Coronavirus is far from over, and this is what Anupamaa actor Sudhanshu Pandey tried conveying as he slammed award show organizers and celebs for not following COVID-19 protocols laid down by the government. Sudhanshu Pandey recently attended an award ceremony and he also received Dadasaheb Phalke award for his performance in Anupamaa opposite Rupali Ganguly.
Afterwards, while speaking to the media, he called out the award show organizers and the celebs who hadn’t been following any protocol. He said that there were no hand sanitizers, and no one was wearing masks. “Yaha pe is function mein koi bhi protocol follow nahi kar raha hai, kisi bhi tarah ka protocol follow nahi hua hai and this is very, very unfortunate. Kyunki itne saare log hai yaha, kisine bhi mask nahi pehna tha, there were no sanitizers,” he said.
While many lauded Sudhanshu Pandey for speaking up about this, a few Netizens also questioned him why he wasn’t wearing a mask himself. Replying to those, Sudhanshu Pandey dropped a comment wherein he clarified that the interview was done outdoors and that the media was at least 15 feet away.
“To all the people asking y I’m not wearing a mask .. this interview was done outdoors in d open n media was at least 15 feet away only the were kept in place ... I wouldn’t be talking about this if I don’t protocol myself .. Thank you,” he wrote.
