Star Plus show Silsila Pyaar Ka under threat?
With the TRPs dipping, the channel is contemplating a new timeslot for the show. There’s also a possibility of it being shifted to the web-channel
Television producer Rashmi Sharma is a troubled woman these days. Reason: The fate of her show Silsila Pyaar Ka, which airs at 8.30 pm on Star Plus, is hanging in balance.
The channel, we hear, is toying with two ideas -- changing Silsila Pyaar Ka’s timeslot or shifting it to their web-platform. The show, which features Abhay Vakil, Chhavi Pandey and Shilpa Shirodkar in main roles, has been consistently unimpressive on the rating charts.
But that’s not the only reason. SpotboyE has it that the broadcaster has heavily invested in a new show by Yash Patnaik, titled Jaana Na Dil Se Door.
The show, apart from having a script that boasts movie-like twists and turns, has a slew of big names like Shashank Vyas and Nausheen Ali Sardar. With the serial’s tentative launch date being May 23-24, a call will have to be taken soon.
“The channel wants a show with such big names to get a good window. And 8.30 pm is an excellent slot, which is not being used well at the moment,” says a source.
Where does that leave Rashmi? Buzz is, the producer is not at all happy with Silsila Pyaar Ka being shifted. Seems, she has even started bargaining with Star Plus using another show of hers -- Saath Nibhaana Saathiya -- as the trump card.
Adds the source, “Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has been a slot-saver for years now. Rashmi has been asking the broadcaster to reconsider their decision, saying she has given them a successful show as well. She is using Saath Nibhaana Saathiya to bargain for Silsila Pyaar Ka.”
