Sidharth Bhardwaj RECALLS Facing Financial Problems In Mumbai: ‘I Was Never A Rich Guy In India’
Actor-model Sidharth Bhardwaj is widely known for his stint on the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss 5’ where he emerged as the second runner-up of the season. He rose to fame after he won the MTV reality show Spiltsvilla 2 in 2009. However, Sidharth decided to leave the showbiz industry when he was at the peak of his career and moved to America to pursue his dreams. In a recent interview, the actor talked about the difficulties to sustain a lifestyle in Mumbai and even spoke about facing financial woes during the early days of his struggle.

Speaking with Etimes TV, the actor revealed while he was doing Bigg Boss, the makers did not give him big money as they understood he was in need of the show. Sidharth was quoted as saying, “I was like don’t give me money but don’t lie atleast. My financial condition was decent. I did Bigg Boss, a few shows, and then events. But I was never a rich guy in India. It is expensive and there is always some kind of exploitation going on. When I started working as a VJ, my financial condition improved than what it was back then when I was working in a call centre. But also, the lifestyle stepped up. The money that was coming, was also going to keep up with the lifestyle. I had taken a house and a car. Being in the industry, you have to network with the celebs and you would have to pay the bills and all.”

Meanwhile, Sidharth Bhardwaj also featured in the stunt-based reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 6. In 2014, he tried his luck in acting and made his Bollywood debut in the Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi. However, it was his last on-screen appearance as quit the industry post this. Sidharth is currently pursuing stand-up comedy in the US.
