Popular television actress Shweta Tiwari has faced a lot of challenges in her life. Her marriage with Abhinav Kohli hit a rough patch after she filed a police complaint against her estranged husband for domestic violence. A few months ago, in August, the news of Shweta Tiwari being a victim of domestic violence once again had shocked her fans. SpotboyE broke the news of Abhinav Kohli being accused of inappropriate behaviour with Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak Tiwari. The mother-daughter duo had filed a complaint with Samta Nagar Police Station in Mumbai, regarding the same.
According to reports, she filed a case in Samata Nagar police station in Mumbai and the accused was sent to police custody till August 13, 2019, where he stayed for 2 days. The actor was booked under sections 354-A, 323, 504, 506, 509 IPC. Abhinav Kohli used to abuse in filthy language to his step-daughter Palak. According to the police report, he has been outraging the modesty of her daughter by throwing obscene comments and showing obscene model's photos in his mobile since October 2017. Shweta Tiwari till now had maintained a stoic silence on her broken marriage so far. However, she addressed the same at a recent interaction with the media for the show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan. During the interaction, Shweta Tiwari was asked what message she has for women who face domestic violence. That is when Shweta broke her silence and said that a lot of people who tell her, “Achha? Dobara bhi problem? Aisa ho nahi sakta.” She questions them saying, “Aisa kyu nahi ho sakta? At least I have the guts that if I faced a problem again, I could speak up about my problems without any fear whatsoever. What others think of me is none of my concern. I will only do what is right for my child and my personal growth.”
Shweta Tiwari further said, “There are people who indulge in infidelity even after marriage. At least I'm better than all of that. I had the courage to tell that I don't want to stay with you. So, I will do what is right for me without caring about what others think of me.”
Speaking about the message she wants to put out for women who are suffering, she says, “And yes, I want to set an example for all those women who will be suffering under the fear of societal pressures and not come out in the open to share their disturbing incidences.”
