Over the past few months, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has constantly been in the news. From taking a generation leap the fourth time to the problematic behaviour of the leads Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe, the show has been constantly facing scrutiny. While netizens have been heaping praises on the performance of Samridhii Shukla, who essays the role of Abhira, they were unhappy with the actors who portrayed the characters of Armaan and Ruhi. Weeks after Pratiksha and Shehzada were fired from the show, multiple reports suggested that the duo's closeness in real life affected Abhira and Armaan’s love story arc in the show.
Now a recent report by the Free Press Journal, states that Shezada and Samridhii did not get along well while working on the sets of the show. According to the media publication’s well-placed source, only a few people on the set knew that they didn’t get along with each other. Even though that was fine, Shehzada’s fondness with Pratiksha was hampering things for the show as they were very open about the relationship. Their PDA was made obvious when the actor opted to often give interviews with Pratiksha, who was a parallel lead in the show. Free Press Journal’s source added, “It was very obvious to everyone that they were dating. If you go to see a few videos from Anita Raaj's birthday celebrations on sets, you will know this too. The PDA was obvious. However, it was when they also started giving interviews together that started causing a trouble for the storyline. Shehzada would barely choose to give interviews with Samridhii. As a result of all his interviews with Pratiksha, the audience started shipping them together and the lead couple was just getting sidelined. After the termination of the actors, the producers introduced a no-dating policy on the sets of their show. As for the show, Rohit Purohit was roped in to play the role of Armaan, and Garvita Sadhwani was roped in to essay the role of Ruhi.
For the unversed, Rajan Shahi’s Directors Kut Productions had issued a statement, that the parallel female lead and the male lead of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai were terminated. While Shehzada was asked to leave due to his increasingly unprofessional behaviour with the crew members and throwing tantrums, Pratiksha was fired as she refused to improve her acting skills.
