Salman Khan’s show Bigg Boss is one of the most controversial reality shows on Indian television. Having brought many controversial figures together to stay in a close space, over the years, netizens would eagerly tune into the show to watch the drama unfold. While the makers have been accused of showing scripted fights and wins in recent seasons, fans often reminisce about the unfiltered moments from the old seasons. A few days ago, Bigg Boss season 11 contestant Zubair Khan’s old video resurfaced online where he recalled his infamous showdown with Bhaijaan, who was the host of the show.
A netizen shared a snippet of his old interview on the subreddit Bolly Blinds N Gossips. For those who don’t remember, Khan was one of the most controversial personalities in the history of the reality show. The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actor brutally slammed the filmmaker for his derogatory remarks about the female contestants. The host was further enraged after Zubair argued with him during a Weekend Ka Vaar episode after which the contestant was thrown out of the show. During an interview in 2023, the filmmaker, who looks unrecognisable, opened up about the entire fiasco and shared unknown details about how his life panned out after being evicted from the show. Expressing how participating in Bigg Boss season 11 was the biggest mistake of his life, he further explained that Salman stayed true to his words, which led to the former not getting any work. He was thrown in jail for three months after he was falsely accused in a case. The shock from everything led to his mother’s untimely demise as she couldn’t bear the trauma. Breaking down in tears, quoted by the Free Press Journal, he added, “I tried to hang myself by putting a dupatta around the fan. I tried killing myself 2-3 times, but I just couldn't do it. As soon as the video surfaced on Reddit, netizens took to the comment section of the post to question why Zubair was victimising himself after his horrible treatment of his co-contestants. Many even stated how they miss the old, unfiltered episodes of Bigg Boss. One wrote, “As someone who has seen the entire season, he is a deplorable, terrible person and deserves what he is getting.” Another commented, “Asshole got asshole treatment I don't see anything wrong.”
For the unversed, Bigg Boss 11 was won by Shilpa Shinde and the first runner-up of the reality show was Hina Khan.
