Shocking! Big Ticket Shows Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 And Bigg Boss 12 Plummet
Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 and Bigg Boss 12 have registered significant dip in impressions in Week 40 (September 29-October 5), BARC ratings. The drop comes as a shock since the two began with immense hype
Things are not looking good for Star Plus’ Kasautii
Zindagii Kay 2 and Colors’ Bigg Boss 12, for both shows have registered
significant drop in its impressions in Week 40 (September 29-October 5). Let’s
begin by talking about the former. The show is a remake of the iconic Kasautii
Zindagii Kay (2001) which starred Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan and made them
stars overnight. The reboot stars Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan.
Considering the magnanimity of the original, fans were waiting with bated
breath to witness Anurag and Prerna’s journey. However, despite the hype, the
show has failed to lure fans. In the first week, it barely made it to Top 10.
It was still early days and it is only fair to give a new
show some time to gain momentum, but unfortunately Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 did
not ascend. This week, it has further dropped to No.16. What is not working?
Whatever the reason may be, makers have to pull up their socks to push the show
quickly upwards in the merit list. Introduce Komolika’s character, perhaps?
Coming to Bigg Boss 12, the Salman Khan-hosted show has
been a bummer from the get go. The reality show did get eyeballs in the first
week owing to the fanfare but soon fizzled out. Bigg Boss 12 was ousted from
Top 10 last week, but now, it has dropped to No. 20 (Weekend Ka Vaar). First,
the show has high concentration of commoners this time which has made it rather
difficult for fans to remain ‘interested’. Second, Anup Jalota and Jasleen
Matharu’s jodi grabbed eyeballs when the show began, but that too has been
overdone. Third, Roshmi Banik and Kriti Verma, who were loudmouths on the show
was the first duo to be ousted, which reduced the ‘drama’ in the house to a
large extent. Lastly, from the looks of it, the ploy of eliminating contestants
and sending them to the ‘secret room’, case in point, Anup Jalota and
Sreesanth, has become repetitive. So much so, the audience can guess way in
advance that a twist in awaited.
