Almost every actor who wants to make it big in the entertainment industry has to go through some difficult times. Similarly, TV actor Shashank Vyas' life had also been a roller-coaster ride before Balika Vadhu happened in his life. In an interview with Times Now, the actor opened up on his initial days. He revealed that he gave more than 250 auditions before he came in contact with the makers of Balika Vadhu. After giving the audition, Vyas revealed that they made him sign a confirmation letter but for 10 days there was nothing.

He was quoted saying, "I gave around 285 auditions or more than that before I came in contact with the producers of Balika Vadhu. I came to Mumbai in the year 2009. I was in search of acting and was giving auditions everywhere. The producers of Balika Vadhu, called me for some audition, after looking at my pictures and I got a call the next day. I was taking chakkar (rounds) 3-4 times as things were not getting materialised. They made me sign a confirmation letter and I signed it but for 10 days there was nothing."

He then asked the major casting person about his work as for 10 days they didn't say anything. Later, he got to know his contract was signed and that he would be working with Surekha Sikri who essayed the role of dadisa in the show. Well, that's how we got our Jagya in Balika Vadhu. The show also starred Anup Soni, Smita Bansal, late Pratyusha Banerjee.
