Sara Khan Opens Up On Replacing Seema Mishra In Santoshi Maa Sunayein Vrat Kathayein - EXCLUSIVE
Recently we reported to you that Seema Mishra who used to essay the character of Devi Paulomi on the mythological show 'Santoshi Maa Sunayein Vrat Kathayein' has been replaced by Sara Khan. Sharing the reason behind her exit, Seema had told us the makers found her personality too modern to play a Devi on screen. And now we spoke to Sara Khan at length who is not just stepping into her shoes but for the fourth time she is replacing a character on-screen;

You have been part of &TV's Santoshi Maa in 2016 as well. Did that experience convince you to be part of the show again?
Yes! My experience while working on Santoshi Maa back in 2016 was exhilarating. And, coming back to this project I believe that the use of Hindi language is much more simplified, and the dialogues too are easily comprehendible. Also, I love the way Rashmi Sharma creates mythological shows; one can see the creativity, character building, visualization and overall narratives beautifully defined.

You are stepping into Seema Mishra's shoes. You feel there will be any comparisons?
Honestly, comparisons never bothered me. Everybody has their way of portraying a character according to their capabilities. So, while working, I do not keep all these thoughts in my mind, which will hamper my creativity.

Sara

Very few actors manage to get love from audiences after replacing someone, and you are one of them. What do you have to say about that?
I would say that I am lucky. Audiences have always accepted me for every character that I have essayed on screen. And I feel the level of responsibility increases when you replace someone in an ongoing show. I hope viewers love my role as Paulomi now.

Shooting with the New Normal is difficult for actors. How will you manage with this whole look which needs a certain kind of makeup and jewellery?
Now that is something, we all must manage to fit in. We all must adapt ourselves to this new kind of shooting norm. It is all for our safety and that of others around us. The production house is taking the utmost precautions and sanitation measures to ensure everyone's safety. I am also gearing to carry my safety and makeup kit to take necessary precautions.

After Namah do you feel this role may typecast you in the Mythological genre?
I never let myself get typecast because the audiences have seen me in a variety of roles before. Also, I have never done the same kind of work repeatedly, So I don't think there are any chances of getting typecast anyway.
