The year has almost come to an end, and Twitter has released its year-end report giving an idea briefly about which celebrities, TV shows, movies and more took social media by storm this year. The results in the report are on the basis of tweets from January 1, 2020, to November 15, 2020, and the list includes most liked, most quoted tweets on the microblogging site. #ThisHappened2020 also included a list of TV shows that were the most tweeted about, in the year 2020, and Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss has topped the list.
Among all television shows, Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss evoked conversations and was the most talked-about TV show this year. This not only includes the current Bigg Boss 14, but also Bigg Boss 13, which featured Asim Riaz, Sidharth Shukla, Shehnaaz Gill, Rashami Desai and others. While Bigg Boss 13 concluded in the first quarter of 2020, Bigg Boss 14 premiered in October 2020. Bigg Boss 14 hasn’t been topping the TRP charts, but clearly, people are tweeting a lot about it.
After Bigg Boss, Nia Sharma, Jasmin Bhasin, Anita Hassanandani, and Vijayendra Kumeria starrer Naagin 4 became the second most tweeted about show in 2020 in India. On the third spot was Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai starring Shivangi Joshi and Moshin Khan.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet confirming his COVID-19 diagnosis in July 2020 became the most liked and quoted tweet this year in Indian Entertainment.
