However, for
those who thought that the show would probably go off air after a petition was filed against
Pehredaar Piya Ki demanding a ban on the show, especially when
I&B Minister, Smriti Irani supported public’s opinion, here’s an
update- Pehredaar Piya Ki will now play in a late night slot of 10
pm. Also, it will run an advisory
disclaimer throughout the show, saying that the show does not promote child
marriage and it’s a work of fiction.
On Wednesday, the
officials of Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) met for a discussion, post which a statement was
issued saying, "We had a monthly meeting and the channel officials were
called for a discussion, which went on for quite long. After everything, they
were directed that the timing of the show should be shifted to a late night
slot of 10 pm and that
they must run a disclaimer.”
