Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 actor Omkar Kapoor was finalised to play the main lead in Ekta Kapoor's Dil Hi To Hai but he will not be a part of the show. Omkar backed out of the project, and here's why...
Dil
Hi To Hai, the show which created a buzz
as the remake of Karan Johar's cult classic Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, is in news
again.
Though Ekta had clarified
that the show's concept was not similar to the blockbuster, but speculations
went on either way.
Ekta Kapoor
Ekta had tweeted, "I’m
not making Kabhi Khushi Kabhi gum! I’m making a about rich family that own a

Since the show's
announcement, a lot of names have been floating with regards to the show's lead
cast and finally Bollywood actor Omkar Kapoor who was last seen in Pyaar Ka
Punchnama 2 was roped to play the main character.
Omkar, who started his
acting career as a child with Masoom in 1996 was supposed to play the role of
Ritwik Noon, an ambitious guy.
Confirming the news to Mid
Day, the actor had earlier said, “Getting a chance to be part of the television
industry, especially with Ekta ma’am, makes me feel blessed. On the work front,
my character, Ritwik, is ambitious and a go-getter. On the personal front, he
is a charmer.” He further added, “TV has a wide audience and I want to make a
mark in the industry. I’m looking forward to showcasing my talent and earning
the love of the audience.”
But SpotboyE.com has it
that you won't be able to see Omkar in the show.
Yes, a source informed
SpotboyE.com that just a day before the promo shoot Omkar stepped back.
Everything was organised but the actor did not show up for the shoot.
Reason? The channel (Sony
TV) is still racking their brains for a valid and reasonable answer from the
actor but there's nothing from him, as yet.
According to a source that
works on the show, Omkar was not comfortable doing playing a father in the
show. His character was to have a son on the show.
That comes across as odd.
Was Omkar not told about the route the story would take, while he was given a
narration of the character?
What's happening next?
Well, the production is looking for Omkar's replacement currently.
We contacted the producers
for their take on the story, but at the time of going online, there was no
comment from them.
