Producer JD Majethia Recalls His Last Conversation With The Late Ghanashyam Nayak, TMKOC's Nattu Kaka
Ghanashyam Nayak, popularly known as Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Nattu Kaka, passed away after his battle with cancer
The death of veteran actor Ghanashyam Nayak on October 3 left the industry and his fans heartbroken. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Nattu Kaka had been suffering from cancer. TV producer and actor JD Majethia has now recalled his last conversation with the veteran actor. He said he came to know about the senior actor's disease very late. “I got to know very late about his cancer and around three weeks ago I had called him. My wife too had spoken with him. At that time he told me that he was recovering but now the curtains have come down," Majethia told ETimes.
The producer shared he had known the senior actor since his childhood as they were neighbours. Back then they worked in plays and were also seen in the popular TV show, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He added, “We were neighbours in our hometown. I used to see him perform in theatres and I was a big fan of his acting. Working with him was like a dream come true for me. The most memorable moments which I have of him are when we worked together in plays and in the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.”
“He was a fine actor. I don’t think he had any enemy in this industry because he was so good to everyone around him,” says the producer.
JD Majethia, who gave a glimpse of the late actor in Ranglo’s character in Bhavani art form in an Instagram post, said, “There were so many times I had seen him play the character of Ranglo in Bhavani art form, which is a folk form of performance. Not everyone can play roles like this and he was someone who did it with great excellence.”
