Poonam Pandey was the last contestant to have got evicted from the reality show ‘Lock Upp’, which will have its grand finale this Saturday i.e on May 7. During her stint in the show, Poonam revealed many shocking and controversial revelations about her personal life. She was very vocal about suffering domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband Sam Bombay and also shared that she was suicidal at one point in her life. Now, in a recent interview, the actress has revealed that she has lost her 'sense of smell' completely after domestic violence and brain haemorrhage.      

In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Pandey talked about how she struggles to sense the smell around her. She was quoted saying, “I can’t smell things, I ask people around me about the smell. That’s how I smell things. When the domestic violence happened with me, I lost the sense of smell completely. With brain haemorrhage, it is connected. But honestly, I am mentally and physically much stronger right now.”

In one of the episodes of Lock Upp, Poonam Pandey had said that her brain injury could not heal properly as Sam kept on beating her on the same spot again and again. She revealed that she used to apply makeup and laugh in front of everyone to hide her scars. "I didn't have the ba**s to be vocal. I would still pose for nice photos, talk so casually. My face was black and blue, I would put makeup on top of it and go to events.”  I was in a relationship for four years and for those four years of my life, I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I would not eat for days, that's why I crave vada pav. I would get beaten up. I would get locked in one of my bedrooms. My phone was broken so I couldn't make any calls. And the next time I would just feel that I should kill myself. I've tried to kill myself multiple times. Kutte ki tarah maarta hain na, kutte ki tarah,” Poonam Pandey shared on the show. 

Last year, Poonam Pandey’s husband Sam Bombay was arrested after she lodged a physical assault complaint against him. She had previously filed a complaint against her husband in Goa, just a few weeks after their marriage in September 2020.
