Judged by chefs Ranveer Brar, Garima Arora and Vikas Khanna, the seventh season of MasterChef India found its winner in home cook Nayanjyoti Saikia. He won the hearts of the audience with his determination and delicious dishes. After having a get together with his fellow contestants in Mumbai, the home cook returned to his home town in Assam where he was warmly greeted by the crowd.

He took to his official social media handle to share a heartwarming video of how his admirers welcomed him at the airport with garlands and a stole. He got very emotional looking at the crowd gathered for him. It was a beautiful grand celebration complete with a traditional Bihu performance. Sharing the video on Instagram, Nayanjyoti wrote, “Homecoming… I'm so grateful and happy beyond words that all I can say is thank you. Fans couldn’t stop heaping praises at the homecook. They took to the comment section of the post to shower him with love and congratulatory messages. For the unversed, the Assam resident took home Rs 25 lakhs as the prize money along with the coveted trophy of MasterChef India season 7 and the Golden Chef's Coat. He beat Santa Sarmah and Suvarna Bagul, who became the first and second runner-ups of the show.
