Amitabh Bachchan hosted game show Kaun Banega Crorepati has garnered a huge fan base over the years for its reality quiz show format, and is running 12 seasons strong. The grand premiere of KBC season 12 aired on the small screen on September 28, 2020. While Amitabh Bachchan is hosting the 12th instalment of the show, he recently opened up about facing a financial crunch in his family and how his family managed their way through it.

When Amitabh Bachchan was recently hosting one of KBC 12’s episodes, one particular contestant named Jay Kulshreshtha spoke about the time from his childhood. The contestant opened up about when he desperately wanted to eat a bhel that was for Rs 7. He then shared how his mother refused initially to spare the money, due to financial reasons, but could manage to give him only Rs 5, upon being forced.

Listening to Jay’s touching story, Big B also recalled a somewhat similar incident from his childhood. The Gulabo Sitabo actor shared how he wanted to be a part of the cricket team when he was in school. Amitabh Bachchan recalled a similar phase of his life and said that he wanted to be a part of the school cricket team and required Rs 2, back in those days. However, when he informed his mother Teji Bachchan about the same, she said that they do not have the money to enroll him in the school cricket team. The veteran actor then continued to add how its moments like these that incidents play a role in keeping a person grounded even after they achieved all the luxuries and success in life and said, “I still remember the value of those Rs 2.”
Meanwhile, as Amitabh Bachchan shared the incident with his viewers and the contestant on the hot seat, he also remembered the time when his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan had got him his first camera from Russia. Big B shared that the gift his father gave him was his most valuable gift and mentioned that he still has it with him.
