Shubhaavi Choksey speaks to SpotboyE.com about her fashion sense and how her mother has played a vital role in it
Shubhaavi Choksey, who’s known for her impeccable acting skills, and impressive fashion sense, opens up about how her mother has influenced her style, persona, and her entire outlook towards life.
In this exclusive interview, the actress shares how in her younger days, she would be comfortable dressing up in casuals, but her mother showed her how elegant sarees are. She says, “My mother, at that time, was called Rekha as she would only wear organza sarees and have a big kumkum bindi with sindoor and mangalsutra and glass bangles; and I on the other hand have always been a tomboy all my life. I was extremely comfortable in my shorts and baggy fit denims with oversized t-shirts. When I passed school and started college and then modelling, I would always complain to my mother about managing a saree and she would always say, “The day you become comfortable is when you will realize that any woman looks the best in a saree” I never believed her until the day I got married and wore my Paanetar (Gujrati brides wear for their wedding). I guess that’s the day when I truly realized what my mother kept telling me all those years." She further adds, “There are many things that I have learnt from my mother; from being patient, being positive, being compassionate towards everyone, keeping the family together always to being one with everyone around. I love her for inculcating so many qualities in me. She is a woman of the millennium not of the 50’s actually: Extremely broad-minded and accepting to new ideas."
