Indian Idol 14 WINNER: Vaibhav Gupta Wins The Singing Reality Show; Says, ‘Dreamt Of This Since My Childhood’
Vaibhav Gupta, who won the singing reality show Indian Idol 14, has now opened up about his journey on the show and what he considers as one of the best moments
One of the most sought-after singing-based reality shows on Indian television, Indian Idol recently concluded its 14th season. Hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala, singers Shreya Ghoshal, Kumar Sanu, and Vishal Dadlani were the judges of the show. Contestant Vaibhav Gupta won the show during the grand finale was conducted on March 3. He took home a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs, a brand new ‘Hot and Techy Brezza’ car along with the trophy. The Indian Idol season 14 winner has now opened up about his journey on the show.
In an interview with BollywoodLife, Vaibhav spoke about his victory. Opening up about his big victory, he expressed his excitement and his happiness. He stated that he had always dreamed of performing on the stage in front of respected singers ever since he was a child. He told the entertainment portal, “Aaj mai Indian Idol 14 ka winner ban gaya hu. Iss baat ki bahut jyada khushi hai mujhe. I have dreamt of this since my childhood that I will be on the stage performing in front of such respected singers. I have worked hard and my voice has reached the hearts of the people. I am very happy and this journey has been amazing. It just so much of happiness around.”
When asked about his best moment from the show, Gupta stated that his entire journey of Indian Idol 14 has been special. From the judges, his co-contestants to everyone else, he will never forget anyone. However, one moment that stands out is performing in front of his idol Sukhwinder Singh. He added, “The whole journey has been the best for me. But if you ask me one then it would be the day, my idol, Sukhwinder Singh came on the show. I sang in front of him and he blessed me. He told me that my voice is good and I sound beautiful. He made me wear my shoes so this was a big thing for me. He is my idol and an idol is like God so when God himself has blessed me then I can achieve everything.”
Talking about the show, apart from Vaibhav Gupta, the other contestants that were a part of the top six were Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury, Ananya Pal, Adya Mishra, Piyush Panwar, and Anjana Padmanabhan. While Chowdhury and Panwar were given a trophy and Rs 5 lakhs cheque as the first and second runner-ups respectively, Pal became the third runner-up. She received a cheque of Rs 3 lakhs.
