Indian Idol 12: Nadeem Saifi Of Nadeem- Shravan Fame Reacts To Not Being Called For Shravan’s Tribute Episode
For Shravan Rathod’s tribute episode in Indian Idol 12, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Govinda were connected via video call but not Nadeem Saifi from the Nadeem- Shravan duo. Here’s how he reacted to the same
One of the ace music directors of Bollywood, Shravan Rathod, from the Nadeem- Shravan duo passed away on April 22 due to COVID-19 complications. To give a heartfelt tribute to the late composer, the makers of the singing reality show, Indian Idol 12 organised a special episode by calling Shravan Rathod’s cousin Roop Kumar Rathod along with Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Padwal. All the three guests were mighty impressed with the contestants’ performances. They even connected with singer Kavita Krishnamurthy and actor Govinda who spoke some words for Shravan via video call.
However, Nadeem who is an integral part of the composer duo was not present. Reacting to the same, Nadeem Akhtar Saifi talked about the episode and not the fact that he was not called in the episode. He was quoted saying by The Times of India, “Honestly, I would love to give each contestant who sang on Saturday a break and make another 'Aashiqui' with them. Shravan and I were together for 20 years. We might not have been in regular touch since the last 15 years but none of my sweet memories with him have faded away.” On the other hand, Shravan's son Sanjeev was elated that Nadeem-Shravan’s music is still being heard in 2021.
“I felt very happy that Nadeem-Shravan's music is still hot in 2021. Every singer flowed with our songs seamlessly and their passion was to be seen to be believed,” he said. While speaking about ignoring Nadeem on the show, Sanjeev said, "I must say that they should have approached Nadeem uncle for a (sound)bite, just like they approached Kavita Krishnamurthy, Govinda, etc.”
