Imlie 3: Lightman Dies On The Sets Of Adrija Roy Starrer, After Being Electrocuted; AICWA President Demands Action Against The Makers Of The Show
The makers of Imlie 3 starring Adrija Roy and Sai Ketan Rao, have come under fire after a lightman, in his 20s, passed away from electrocution
Star Plus’ one of the most-watched shows Imlie was recently in the news for taking a second generational leap. While the makers of the show are trying their best to keep the audiences entertained with the new storyline, a young lightman Mahendra Yadav, who was in his 20s, passed away recently. According to a media report by Koimoi, the incident took place on Wednesday, September 20. The report states that he suffered an electric shock during the shoot of the show, which was taking place in Goregaon Film City. While he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to death before reaching there.
The president of All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, has now urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to take action against the producer of the show, 4 Lions Films’ Gul Khan and the channel, Star Plus for ignoring the safety measures on their sets. The report also stated that the president has put across three demands. Action to be taken against the makers of the show, the producers should pay Rs 50 lakh to the grieving family and the immediate resignation of the Managing Director and Commissioner of Film City. The shooting of the show has been halted after the accident.
Quoted by India.com, Gupta, during a conversation with ETimes, also spoke about how the producers fail to take safety measures and treat workers as insects. He added, “Many incidents in our film industry are suppressed because there is full cooperation from the administration. The administration is not taking any concrete steps and no production house, or channel is ensuring safety on the shooting sets. They do not follow any rules, these production houses, producers and channels have full support from many officials.”
Talking about the show, it started with Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani and Fahmaan Khan. The show racked in a lot of love from the audiences owing to the interesting plot and the chemistry between the actors. The show went on to take a generational leap and then focused on the love story between Megha Chakraborty and Karan Vohra. Now the third season stars Adriya Roy and Sai Ketan Rao who essay the roles of Imlie and Agastya.
