The holy month of Ramadan comes to an end with Eid, a festival that is celebrated by Muslims all across with utmost enthusiasm and excitement. This year, however, won't be the same as the Coronavirus outbreak has changed our lifestyle of sorts. With people being confined to their houses, the celebrations are expected to take place within the four walls itself. Well, TV personality Gauahar Khan's case is no different. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the former Bigg Boss winner opened up on her Eid 2020 plans and revealed that they're going to be quite low-key this year.
Gauahar is excited to celebrate Eid with her mother by making mouth-watering sheer kurma and biryani at home. She said, "I usually cook something special every year on Eid along with Nigaar (elder sister) and my mother. While we would divide most of the work, this year I have decided to cook sheer khurma and biryani for the three of us (her mother, herself and their house help). I wish I could distribute some of the delicacies to neighbours and visitors, but this year we can’t do that."
Upon being asked about her Eid outfit, the actress said, "I’m grateful that I have generous designer friends who keep sending me beautiful outfits, and which is why I have something new to wear. But I will keep the celebration subdued, realising that not everyone will be fortunate enough to do what they usually have been doing on the day."
Gauahar added how since it won't be possible to meet her brothers this year due to the lockdown, she will get her Eidi through a bank transfer. She also reveals praying for the betterment of the world and hoping that the situation returns to normalcy soon.
