The media present also enquired about her foray into the digital space with her app ALTBalaji. Now that she rules the TV world, does she expect a similar outcome for the digital space as well? “I want to rule the digital platform. That’s my dream. We were hoping for 8 lakh downloads in 5 weeks, we got 3 million. We couldn’t put on many shows this month, but next month is going to be different. I plan to put out 4-5 big shows, which will see a few of my favourite actors,” she added.
Ekta has been sharing number of pictures with good friends Smriti Irani and Sakshi Tanwar on social media. Is she planning a show or web-series with them? “You want me to cast the Textile Minister in my show? I would love to but Smriti will not agree. Sakshi, on the other hand, has given a Rs 2000 crore film (Dangal), so I also have to work hard,” Ekta quipped.

She also applauded Smriti for being a hard-working actress, a kind a difficult to find nowadays. “She was shooting through her pregnancy. In fact, no one knows that she shot on her wedding day due to a telecast issue. We will really not be able to find such actors in today’s times,” she said.
Ask her about the actor she would want to cast for a TV show and she says, “Ranveer Singh if he agrees.”
Kundali Bhagya will air on Zee TV from July 12.
