Ekta Kapoor On Kangana Ranaut Hosted Lock Upp Being Compared To Salman Khan's Bigg Boss: ‘Comparisons Are Bound To Happen, Aap Dekhiye Kitna Alag Hoga’
Ekta Kapoor talks about her upcoming show Lock Upp being compared to Bigg Boss
Kangana Ranaut and Ekta Kapoor are gearing up for the release of their upcoming OTT show ‘Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachari Khel’. The show, which is already making headlines, promises to be an engaging captive reality show with all the ingredients- compelling tasks, dramatic fights, and an exciting mix of contestants that will keep the audience glued to their seats. While the show is creating a huge buzz on social media, a certain section compares it with Salman Khan’s popular controversial reality show Bigg Boss.
In a recent interview, Ekta opened up about her show being compared to Bigg Boss and stated that comparisons are bound to happen. But there is a huge difference between captive reality and original captive reality. Ekta told TOI, “All captive realities all over the world get compared with each other and this is a captive reality. It’s like saying did you ever get scared because one soap opera got compared with the other? There’ll be 10 shows, we will see them as same stories. But they have all worked on their own differences. There is going to be constant comparison. People will say stuff. But captive reality and original captive reality will also have its differences. Aap dekhiye kitna alag hoga.”
Meanwhile, talking about the format of Lock Upp, 16 controversial celebrities will be locked inside the jail and stripped of their amenities. The contestants will be locked up in the show's prison and they can come out only if they agree to do what, when and how ‘jailer’ Kangana asks them to do. A few popular names that are doing the rounds to appear on the show are Divyanka Tripathi, Hina Khan, Shweta Tiwari, Surbhi Jyoti, Urfi Javed, Aditya Singh Rajput, Mallika Sherawat, Anushka Sen, Avneet Kaur, Shehnaaz Gill, Vir Das, Poonam Pandey, and others. Speaking about venturing into digital space, in a statement Kangana said, “I am equally thrilled & excited for foraying into the OTT space with such a unique and brilliant concept. I want to thank my boss-lady Ekta, for always being by my side, and she has always been someone I admire and respect a lot. So to all my fans out there, get ready for the most FEARLESS show ever!”
