Donal Bisht Slams 'Groping A Minor's Breast Without Skin To Skin Contact Cannot Be Termed As Sexual Assault Verdict'; Says, 'This Will Encourage Criminals'- EXCLUSIVE
Donal Bisht has questioned if the law is being made for the culprits or the victims, as the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has passed a controversial verdict on sexual assault cases
Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court’s latest verdict that it won’t be considered a sexual assault if there’s no skin-to-skin contact, has created quite a stir among the masses. Actress Donal Bisht, who’s known for being vocal about her opinions, expressed her disappointment with the new verdict.
When asked what her reaction was when she first heard the news, she said, “I came across this news on my social media feed, and I had to read it twice to believe that it’s true! It’s unbelievable. This makes me feel like Mumbai isn’t safe anymore. "How can groping a girl's breast not be termed as sexual assault? If this is the case, then this will lead to more cases of physical assault against women! Skin to skin contact being termed as sexual assault is okay, but groping women's intimate parts without consent should not just come under a punishable offense but also a sexual assault". She further adds, “This law will do nothing but encourage criminals! I don’t understand why this law has been passed! Is the law being made for the culprits or the victims? This law is a gateway to more crimes and sexual assault against women, and it’s just plain scary. On one hand, there are rape victims fighting for justice, and on the other hand, laws like these are being passed. It’s just a sad, sad situation."
