Television’s IT couple Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya enjoy a huge fan following on social media. They often take to their official handles to share glimpses of their personal life and professional achievements. Recently they went on a vacation to Italy where they were their belongings as well as their passports were robbed. Sharing a video of the smashed windows of their car, Vivek took to his Instagram stories to detail everything that happened and recorded the scene. The actress even expressed how people who are advising them about the situation should “stay away” from them.

In the videos shared by Vivek, which were reposted by Instant Bollywood on Instagram, he shows how their car, which was parked on their hotel premises, was wrecked. With one of the doors wide open and the windows smashed, the glass was seen scattered on the back seat of the car. The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor explains that the place where they parked the car was supposed to be a secure location. Even the hotel employees knew that they had all their luggage and necessary items in the car. He added, “Our documents--passports, cash, and all the shopping that we had done in the last 15 days. Apart from their passports, the stolen items are reportedly valued at Rs 10 lakh ($13,000). It is to be noted, that the incident took place in Florence while they were celebrating their eighth anniversary. After sharing the video, they penned a long note to explain the situation further. Quoted by the Hindustan Times, they wrote, “The car was parked in a secured resort property when the break-in happened. Please do not trouble us by suggesting how the care should have been taken. The resort knew about the 'luggage in car' status, and they were cool about it. This can happen to anyone. But I hope it doesn't! (Folded hand emoji). Be of help if you can. Or empathise. If that's seemingly difficult... please go ahead doing your business.”

During an interaction with the news agency PTI, Divyanka revealed that they were checking in to the hotel, during the day of the robbery. They informed the staff about their luggage in their car, who assured them that they can their luggage there while having food. She added, “We thought it was all safe since it's a resort property and not on the street. The thieves broke the window, took all the stuff that was in the rear seat... whatever we had brought from India -- passports, cards, cash, everything is gone. I was stunned. The hotel people are helping us. The property didn't have CCTV, so we made a video and took photos for proof.”


For the unversed, Divyanka and Vivek met on the sets of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. While working on the hit show, produced by Ekta Kapoor, they fell in love and tied the knot in 2016. The couple has been setting relationship goals ever since and they are seen supporting each other in their professional endeavours. Despite being together for so long, they often paint the town red with their cute and adorable posts.
