Dipika Kakar Ibrahim Opens Up On Returning To TV After JP Dutta’s Paltan
TV actors often strive for the silver screen and even after failing on the medium feel hesitant to comeback to the space which gave them their stage of recognition. But Dipika Kakar Ibrahim is an exception to this. The actress who made her Bollywood debut last year with JP Dutta's film, Paltan did a reality show Bigg Boss 12 later and managed to win the title. She didn't plan to stay back in Bollywood and make attempts to do films only. She rather chose to come back to the small screen and do a daily soap drama, Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, instead.

Talking about it, Dipika told SpotboyE.com, "I never said that after Paltan, I want to do films only. Paltan gave me an opportunity to work with JP Dutta. I am very closely associated with his family and I am very fortunate that Paltan happened to me. But I was very much clear in my mind that if any day I get a good show on small screen, I will come back to where I first belonged. Comeback kya, main kahin gayi thodi thi, idhar hi thi (laughs). And honestly speaking, for me TV is my favourite space.”

Dipika who is currently seen in STAR Plus' Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum is portraying the character of a daily soap actress, Sonakshi. Elaborating about the offer, a few days back, she had told us, "It was destined to come to me. I remember before entering Bigg Boss house, Sandip Sikcand (producer) had discussed this show with me. He even told me that he is considering me and Divyanaka for it. In fact, one more girl (Krystle D'souza) was in his mind. He asked me to give a look test but unfortunately we didn't get time to do that as I had to go inside the Bigg Boss house. So, after the reality show ended, I thought that by now the project must have gone on floors, as it was already 4 months after our first discussion. But one day, suddenly Sandip called me saying that the project has not gone on floors as Divyanaka was finalised and ready to shoot but due to her date issues she had to back out. So, that’s how it came back to me and I am extremely happy about it. I remember when I heard the brief of the show for the first time, the thing which came to my mind was, ‘I wish I could do this'."

You may recall after getting Paltan too, Dipika had a candid chat with SpotboyE.com, where she had said, "I went for a reki of my wedding venue. It was around 11 in the night and I got a call from the film's casting agency saying that they wanted to cast me in a JP Dutta film. I felt it was a fake call, like someone playing a joke--- and I ignored it. But then, next morning they sent me the details that J P Dutta is back in Mumbai and he wants to have me opposite Gurmeet Choudhary. Soon, my meeting with JP sir was fixed (pauses). Surprisingly, JP sir didn't take my audition. He just sat with me for 10-15 minutes and had a chat over a cup of tea. That's it. It's his way of casting, he never takes an audition. He reads you as you talk to him just to know if you will fit into the character or not. And then he went inside his cabin, a few minutes later his daughter came out and said that I was doing the film!"

When asked if she would want to focus on Bollywood now, the actress had replied, "Not really--- but agar saaf suthri films offer hoti rahi, toh I won't mind doing them." Well, Dipika has been true to her word, hasn't she?
