COO Of Viacom18, Raj Nayak Has Quit
After being associated with Viacom18, in the capacity of a COO, Raj Nayak has finally put in his papers
Viacom 18 COO, Raj Nayak has called it quits, reveal media reports. In April 2011, Nayak had joined Viacom18’s flagship Hindi general entertainment channel Colors as CEO. It was in May last year, that he was elevated to the network’s COO role and this year in September, the group consolidated all revenue functions under him. Bigg Boss, one of the most popular reality shows on Colors, was the brainchild of Nayak.
Under him, the channel retained its top-3 position in the genre with continued bets on big-ticket reality shows and serials like Naagin. Before joining Viacom, Nayak had formed his own advertisement sales company, Aidem Ventures. Prior to that, he worked as CEO for NDTV Media Ltd and headed it for seven years and at Star Plus for ten years, where he served as the executive vice-president, sales and marketing, responsible for marketing, strategy and packaging of all Star India channels and revenue for the group.

He has been credited with revolutionising advertisement sales in the Indian media and entertainment space. He has helped broaden the advertisement pie by bringing in several new and first-time advertisers on television. He has also lent his involvement in industry platforms including The Advertising Club, Indian Broadcasting Foundation, The International Advertising Association (IAA) - India Chapter, and Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI).
