Castration/Hanging/Both: Divyanka Tripathi & Daljiet Kaur Lash Out On The Rapists Of The 8-Yr-Old In Kathua
Top telly actresses Divyanka Tripathi and Daljiet Kaur severely critisise the heinous rape and murder of the 8-year old in Kathua. Both are furious and have lots to say...
Flames of anger are engulfing the nation from almost all
quarters in the Kathua case of an 8-year old girl who was raped and murdered in
J& K.
Union minister Maneka
Gandhi has said that her ministry will bring an amendment in the Protection of
Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on death penalty for rape of children
below 12 years of age, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has assured that
that her government will bring a "new law" on the same
lines.
Here's what leading TV actresses, Divyanka Tripathi and
Daljiet Kaur, have to say regarding the horrendous crime which was committed:
Divyanka Tripathi
Divyanka Tripathi:
"A woman's modesty is not limited to certain
religion, sect, caste or nation. Any human being must strive to safeguard it,
men and women alike. This is where we must forget boundaries and do
justice. When a woman has been treated like an object by a certain lot of
people, they have certainly lost their sense of humanity. Kathua gang rape
was as bad as all rape cases. Rapes won't stop ever! These heinous men
have attacked someone else's daughter. Tomorrow, it will be yours and
mine! We shouldn't cry foul then because we didn't react now! Something as
animal-like as a cruel gang rape of a child is being subject to protests!
People have to go on strikes for such cases to bring them in notice! Why can't
action be taken simply straight up?"
Divyanka Tripathi
Added Divyanka,
"Things won't change till we put each rape case under fast track
investigation and conviction. The punishments should be as cruel as the crime.
These criminal-minds should fear the outcome of being caught after such a
crime. She wasn't a Muslim, a Hindu or a Sikh. She was our daughter! We
should be ashamed that we couldn't protect her and get her justice at the
earliest.
Castration or death
penalty, we asked? "Either... Or maybe both!" Divyanka thundered,
"Nothing lesser can suffice irrespective of the age of the criminal. A boy
should be taught from childhood how to behave with women. If he can't, he
shouldn't be spared even if he's a juvenile," Divyanka concluded.
Daljiet Kaur
Daljiet Kaur:
"It is disgusting to
talk about these incidences happening so often in our country. I think even
calling the offenders animals is degrading poor animals, even they protect
their family and have more humanity than these criminals. The offenders should
be publicly sentenced to death... these cases have to stop. These inhumane
people need to shiver in their pants before even thinking of doing something
like this. I think the countries who have strict laws... where a hand is cut
off if you even steal is perfect for the condition of our countries where
security for women and children is low. Such extreme laws need to be
implemented to make these devils stop. I wish these culprits are caught
soon."
Daljiet Kaur
Added Daljiet, "I
think these kind of crimes need death penalty nothing less. Cutting off a
part is not good enough. These small kids have not even started
understanding the world... how can someone gang-rape them?"
