Can't Shoot Intimate Scenes, Wedding Scenes And More For Television Shows Post Lockdown, Reveals Producer JD Majethia
In his latest interview, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai producer JD Majethia stated that in order to keep up with the guidelines set during Coronavirus lockdown, Television industry may not be able to shoot intimate scenes and scenes that have large gatherings
Just like all the other industries, Bollywood and Television industries too have come to standstill due to the lockdown imposed to curb Coronavirus spread. No new film, TV show or web-series has been shot in the past two months. Recently, Akshay Kumar became the first actor to resume the shoot of his film. Moreover, producers of IFTPC had a meeting with Maharashtra's Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to request him to grant permission to begin the shoot. Now, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai producer JD Majethia has shared details as to how it will be once the shooting begins.
In his interview with ETimes, he shared that it will take some time for all the production houses to begin work. Stating that they may be able to start work from Mid-June or so, he was quoted saying, " We have spoken to Government and first the sets will be visited by them and they will check if they are away from the civilisation. So, what locations to be allowed in Maharashtra in Mumbai will be checked. It is going to take time, everything will be checked, then if necessary people will be quarantined, it is a long a process.."
He further mentioned that now the scripts of Television shows will also have to alter as makers won't be able to shoot scenes that require a large crowd. He even stated that no intimate scenes like hugging and kissing will be shot. He shared, "First we wrote scripts and arranged things, but now scripts will be written keeping the situation in mind. There will be no wedding, festival, crowd sequences, large action sequences. We can't shoot these situations. We can't shoot hug, kiss, intimate scenes. Our life is not going to be that easy. We have asked for SOP (Standard Operating Practices) from everyone and it will be followed by everyone. From producers to junior artist, everyone has to file it. We have filed broadcasters and (IFTPC ) to the Government authorities."
JD Majethia in his interview also stated that the Entertainment industry will find it a little difficult to get back on track as quite a few workers have migrated to their hometown. But CM Uddhav Thackeray has asked them to not shift the shooting location anywhere else as he is still optimistic about things.
