Great news! CINTAA's appeal of clearing actors and technicians' unpaid dues until March 2020 has been accepted by the government; deets below
In the wake of the Coronavirus lockdown, our news feeds, from the past few weeks, have been majorly about actors and other crew members sharing ordeals of their unpaid dues by their producers. While many raised their voices, a few of them, unfortunately, took the drastic step of committing suicide. However, here's a sigh of relief for all of them. As per Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA), the government has passed their appeal of clearing all the actors and technicians' outstanding dues until March 30, 2020.
CINTAA's official statement read, "We are pleased to inform you that due to the continuous and tireless efforts of our Senior Vice President Shri Manoj Joshi & Senior Joint Secretary Shri Amit Behl and with the support of the entire Executive Committee, an appeal was made to the Central Government to instruct the release of all outstanding payments of actors & technicians till March 2020, which was further pursued by Hon. State Minister Shri Vinay Sahastrabuddhe ji, which has now been accepted by Hon. Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javdekar ji and he has directed all the Broadcasters and Producers to release all dues up to March 2020."
They added, "CINTAA is grateful to the Central Government, Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javdekar ji and Hon. State Minister Shri Vinay Sahastrabuddhe ji for their prompt response to our appeal and for taking quick action on the same."

Well, it's indeed great news for all the artists, especially when most of the producers have backed out from their responsibilities during such crucial times.
