‘Two Heartbreaks Made Me Wiser In Love’: Ali Merchant Opens Up About His Failed Marriages, Reveals He Still Believes In The Power Of Love

Television actor and DJ Ali Merchant rose to fame with television serials like Bandini, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and reality shows Lock Upp season 1 and Bigg Boss. While he is currently making a name for himself as a DJ, he often made the headlines for his failed relationships. During a recent interaction, he recently spoke about his love life and how those heartbreaks have made him stronger.
In an interview with the news agency IANS, he opened up about how “people with a beating heart” suffer due to relationship setbacks. However, he never lets his personal life affect his professional life. He went on to add that even when his things kept hurting him and affected him a lot he kept moving forward with all his energy. Talking about the importance of love, he added, “One becomes a living corpse the day he loses the ability to love, and I definitely ain't one. I believe in the power of love, and when I am surrounded by the positive energy of love, I can achieve and accomplish even the toughest things in my life.”
The 38-year-old went on to add how suffocating he feels after opening up his heart after facing two divorces. For the unversed, the actor got married to actress Sara Khan in 2010 but later separated a few months after tying the knot. They filed for divorce in 2011, when she accused him of lying and cheating on her. He gave love another chance when he married Anam Merchant in 2016, through an arranged marriage. After facing issues, where she didn’t agree with his career as a DJ, they got divorced in 2021.
Talking about facing two heartbreaks, he added, “The two heartbreaks made me a little bit wiser in love, and I don't like to make the same mistakes again.”
