“Sreesanth Abused Rahul Dravid,” Reveals Former India Coach Paddy Upton. Cricketer Calls Him A Big Liar
India's former cricket coach Paddy Upton has stated that Sreesanth had abused Rahul Dravid and him during IPL 2013 for being dropped from a match. The former Bigg Boss contestant and cricketer in return, has called him a big liar
A war of words has ensued between Sreesanth and Indian cricket team’s former mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton after the latter made some startling revelations against the cricketer in his newly-launched book The Barefoot Coach. Upton, who was the head coach of the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals in 2013 has thrown light on the spot-fixing scandal.
In the book, he reveals about Sreesanth’s massive outburst on being dropped from an IPL match against the Mumbai Indians. “The reason for Sreesanth’s repeated poor behavior, which amongst other things included blurting out in front of the team that Rahul Dravid (captain) and I (Upton) could go and f…k ourselves in response for dropping him, now made sense,” Upton wrote explaining why the cricketer was sacked.
Sreesanth, in return speaking to Indian Express said, “He is such a big liar… I never said anything like that.” He further added, "It’s really sad. Feeling really bad for Mr. Paddy Upton. If he wants this 30-second fame, he can have it. All I can say is I’ve always respected every individual I’ve played with and always will. I had high regards for him till date. It’s really disappointing to see this. I really hope he starts to at least respect himself and not sell himself to make other people happy."
The Supreme Court recently overturned the life ban on Sreesanth and asked the BCCI to decide on a fresh quantum of punishment for the cricketer. Sreesanth was last seen on shows like Bigg Boss 12 and Khatron Ke Khiladi. He recently told a leading daily that he has been approached for the dance reality show Nach Baliye 9 along with wife Bhuvneshwari.
