Veteran comedian Sunil Pal has been making shocking remarks about The Great Indian Kapil Show, ever since it was declared that the show is going off-air. He had taken to his official social media handle to express his happiness about the show ending and stated that Kapil Sharma and his team should move back to TV as they are not OTT stars. Now, in an explosive interview, he slammed comedian Sunil Grover for dressing up as women on The Great Indian Kapil Show and portraying those characters with vulgarity.
In an interview with Times Now News, Pal openly criticised the OTT show, which aired on Netflix. He went on to lash out at Grover, who rose to fame by essaying female characters like Rinku Bhabhi and Gutthi previously. For the unversed, he essays the character Chumbak on the Netflix comedy show. Expressing how the makers of the show, portray women characters as vulgar and cheap, he told the media publication, “Sunil Grover acts like a woman in the show and sits on people's laps. Ghinn aati hai. He wears woman's clothes and says vulgar things. Achcha nahi lagta hai. It looks vulgar and cheap. Women are not as desperate as they show them to be. The 49-year-old ace-comedian also apple about how the audience has been complaining a lot about the new Kapil Sharma show, as the episodes just look like a ‘repeated telecast.’ He added, “Even after having 40 writers, they couldn't churn out something new.” Pal further stated how all the comedians in the show look very tired, like they don’t have any energy left in them. Despite the audience waiting for Kapil and Grover to come together again after their big fight, the collaboration has failed to create an impact. He added, “The whole show looks Punjabi, the writers and directors are all Punjabi. Kapil Sharma should also see that his show gets diverse and he should get characters who is a Madrasi, Marathi etc. Actor ki nakal to bachcha bachcha karta hai. Bahut bachkana lagta hai.”
The Great Indian Kapil Show saw celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vicky Kaushal, Parineeti Chopra, and Aamir Khan, among many others grace the stage and open up about their life experiences in the one month of its airing.
