Bollywood’s heroines fail on the red carpet

You Wore WHAT!?
The ladies of Bollywood brought bling and baubles
to the Filmfare red carpet. Unfortunately, the showing was less than
impressive.
Deepika Padukone was the lady in red in Ralph
and Russo. She looks statuesque but so severe. The best part of the gown is the
cowl neck at the back and the train.
By now if you see something white, wispy
and on Sonam Kapoor, you know it’s an Anamika Khanna. This look seems perfect
for the shaadi season and not for awards season. Props for the neckpiece,
though.

PS: She wore a very similar look by Anamika
to last year’s Filmfare Awards.
One of the reasons Parineeti Chopra worked
on getting a fitter body was that she could wear more glamorous clothes. With
this ensemble, I don’t think she’s achieving that. There’s just no wow
factor.
Kriti Sanon’s Nikhil Thampi is lovely. It’s
relaxed and chill but still completely appropriate for the red carpet. Now,
only if she had her hair in a chic updo.
Athiya Shetty’s Monisha Jaising gown seems
pretty basic. A little too basic for a red carpet event. There’s no drama
happening here. Oh, but that piece of jewellery she’s got on her hand is
totally lust-worthy.
Deepika might have had some serious issues
with Ileana D'Cruz because the latter’s in a Nachiket Barve that’s pretty
similar to her Ralph and Russo.
Aditi Rao Hydari wore a mint green Gauri
and Nainika. It fits really well but the styling is where it all falters. She
needed some colour – maybe a bright lip or a ruby necklace. And a better
hairstyle, of course.

Neha Dhupia is also wearing a very similar
Gauri and Nainika. Who do you think wore it better – Aditi or Neha? I’m going
to say Neha.
Bhumi Pednekar confused the red carpet
event for a sangeet ceremony.
Akshara Haasan’s Mayyur Girotra is actually
pretty nice but it’s her hair that’s ruining it all. It’s practically covering
her face.
Richa Chadda’s gown is gorgeous. And by
gorgeous I mean GORGEOUS! But it’s her make-up where it all starts going downhill.
No, no. No! Sunny Leone is perpetrating her
own cliché in this black lace gown.
Huma Qureshi looks stunning and she knows
it. She’s working her Mayyur Girotra like nobody’s business.
So, this is what the women wore on the red
carpet. Hopefully, the guys fared better. We have a piece on that coming up
soon.
